Elizabeth KimJin Collardey, PhD, LCSW
Prior to embarking upon the development of Collardey Counseling Consulting, Elizabeth KimJin Collardey, PhD, LCSW, served in a professional capacity as a foster care and adoption caseworker, a family therapist, a professor of social work, and the clinical director of a local adoption agency.She currently serves as Clinical Director providing mental health counseling as well as supervising contract clinical staff.
Elizabeth has received a number of honors and awards in her field and is well-known for both her publications and her professional presentations. She has conducted workshops for adoptive and foster parents, and has presented to a variety of national groups and organizations on topics that have included adoption, racism, multiculturalism, global child labor, immigrant and refugee communities, effective program evaluation, and academic advising.
Elizabeth received both her PhD and her MSW from the University of Denver. She teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work and is involved with the Association for the Advancement of Social Work with Groups and the National Association for Social Work. She is endorsed by Colorado’s NASW chapter to provide CEU trainings for social workers as well as clinical supervision.
As a Korean adoptee, Elizabeth’s background has instilled a sense of passion and commitment in all of her work. Elizabeth offers not only an impressive portfolio of experience, but also empathy, cultural competence, and empowerment to each client that she serves.
